Use case for Cubic Mesh Elements

I have a FEM meshing question (independent on Calculix).

I use FEM for mechanical problems and for that purpose, I always use mesh elements with quadratic discretization. I know why I usually shouldn’t use linear elements but is there a use case for cubic elements? Maybe with hyperelastic materials? Some programs offer also 4th order mesh elements…

You can use hyperelastic materials even with linear elements. Take a look at this reference for h/p-refinement benefits.
