No problem, what I meant is that nowadays general contact can handle lots of configurations, including various contact conditions with edges and 1D elements (even one beam profile inside the other), by default. There is a way to use contact pairs for cases with tricky edge to surface interactions but CalculiX seems fo have a really big problem with that. I still hope there is a workaround though so I keep trying (to no avail for now).

this analysis case is generally easy to convergence and done in CalculiX, not as in the case of metal forming (thread) i tested.
