GK3D8N element for sealing

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if gasket element exists in ccx. I use this element GK3D8N in Abaqus to evaluate sealing.
If no, there is another element in calculix that can replace this element?
Thank you

No, gasket elements are not available in CalculiX so you have to use general-purpose elements. I would recommend C3D8R for such applications.

As input we associate to this element a gasket behavior in terms of Force/Dispacement that come from 2d analysis gasket.
In output we provide line load as (pressure of gasket* width of gasket).
So I think that C3D8R is not correct.
Do you think that there is another way to simulate this problem?
Thank you

There’s no other option in CalculiX and gaskets have to be modeled with standard elements such as C3D8R. Of course, you can also try 2D elements (internally expanded to 3D solids). So you will need to define regular material behavior (elastic/hyperelastic/plastic/other) and use standard outputs.

Maybe I can use nodal springs to model a gasket

Yes, you could simplify it this way and only provide the stiffness of the gasket as spring constant (or force-elongation data pairs for nonlinear springs) for 2 node spring elements if this approximation is sufficient for you.
