Bending moments in shell elements

Hi All,

is there any way to output bending moments in panels made with QUAD elements? I know that Calculix converts any planar element in solids but I would have thought that it is also able to extract the bending moments in shell elements.
Otherwise the only way would be to integrate the stress though the thickness. is this anyway possible in cgx for example?

Hi,

no, for shells this is not implemented; for beams it is. For beams, the stresses are integrated across the cross section, exactly the way you describe (in map3dto1d2d.f).
