I’ve heard that you talked mostly about the transition to team development and the need for a large code refactor, but you’ve also mentioned the long-awaited Riks solver.

Will you share the slides?

I hope I can make the slides available soon. In the meantime, here is a summary of the talk:

  • Brief history on the development of CalculiX and what problems it can solve
  • Short overview of community activity with some numbers on downloads etc.
  • Development model and transition to team-based development
  • Some code base properties and associated challenges
  • Code modernization goals to reduce legacies and improve code maintainability and utility
  • Outlook for some planned major features (Riks solver / arc-length method, improved linear solver interfaces)
