Explicit Dynamic Analysis Cube on a Thin Plate

Dear all,

I’m new to CalculiX and am trying to run an EXPLICIT DYNAMIC SIMULATION using CalculiX. The simulation involves the impact of a cube on a thin plate. What I get is a strange trajectory of the cube, which doesn’t impact the plate but wanders off on its own, not even respecting the initial conditions imposed, which are related to a set velocity of the cube itself.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Did you define contact ? Are you using 2D elements ? The explicit dynamics procedure in CalculiX has some significant limitations and issues: Can't get simple explicit dynamics impact analysis to work
