Axial forces in beams & trusses

Hello,

Very boring question, but tearing my hair out over it.

How to I get axial force values out of beams and trusses? I need to post-process the figures, so need them in the .dat from *Node Print. Section forces seems to be nearly there, but I can’t work out how to get them out of the .frd file.

With *NODE PRINT, you can get the applied and reaction forces from nodes. You can also use:

*EL FILE, SECTION FORCES, OUTPUT=2D
S, NOE

Or try *SECTION PRINT, but it needs a surface and this can be tricky for 1D elements:

Hi, Is there a way to taking moment reaction from fixed support locations of b32r element? I can easily read reaction forces of fixed support locations from .dat file but I cannot find a way to take similar output format for moment reactions. Regards,

How to print the section moment (SOM) at the section on a 1D beam (B32)?

I modeled a 1D beam (B32) but I don’t know how to input deck format of the section moment(SOM) in .inp. Because the type of SOM is surface, but a 1D beam only have a node in a section. Please help me, think you!
