I am fascinated by overwhelming complexity and seek, as an engineer, to develop better solutions to seemingly impossible problems.
I am a structural engineer with 24 years of engineering practice. In 2016, I accepted an offer to join the faculty of the University of Kansas and restart their evening graduate structural engineering program at the Edwards Campus in Overland Park, KS.
I teach Dynamics & Vibrations, Probabilistic Design & Reliability and Finite Element Modeling of Solids as well as design courses in Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Cold-formed Steel, Aluminum, Timber and Masonry. All of my classes are offered 6-9 PM in my timezone, and can be taken online worldwide either with 2-way real-time audio/video or as recorded classes.
I have been using Calculix as a teaching tool in my FEM class.
