Hi,

I want to assign a initial velocity to a slab. I have tried using
\*INITIAL CONDITION, TYPE=Velocity
Nslab,1, magnitue
But the slab is not moving at all. I am doing \*DYNAMIC analysis

Use the general trouble-shooting technique of removing things until the problem is isolated to something so simple that it’s obvious. It’s easy to start by deleting keyword blocks that aren’t needed to get a solution, such as all the \*BOUNDARY cards, contact, \*RIGID BODY, etc.

The screenshot you posted only has the initial velocity on a single node which may quickly be stopped by the stationary rest of the slab.

The keyword block in your post says “magnitue” instead of the numerical value so that would also not work.
