# Composite option for linear shell element

hi, this is long waited feature which has not been implemented. As many reported, layering by number of element through thickness can improve the accuracy and eliminating problem in locking. Unfortunately, only quadratic shell element has been coded (S8R,S6) not linear ones (S4,S4R,S3). Hopefully this will be available in the future, thank you.

It might be best to post such feature requests as GitHub issues so that they don’t get lost among all rhe forum threads.
